What these runs have in common
- A code with the athlete's name on it: TriDan, OKEEFE, FLORENCE, BUCKHOUSE, KYLE10.
- A product the athlete uses in the sport itself: a waxed race chain, goalkeeper gloves, goggles, a paddle, running caps.
- Small channels hold up. Five of the ten have fewer than 125,000 subscribers, and the longest run of all is on a channel with 12,700.
When the product is the athlete's own
Johnathan Buckhouse writes "Get my Pro Model Goggles" with the code BUCKHOUSE in his Khuno Optics descriptions, from November 2024 on.
The goggle is sold as his own model. He has 38 videos with the code across 20 months.
One athlete, two brands
Brands that don't compete can share an athlete for years.
- TriathlonDan carries HUUB too, 64 videos across 25 months, next to NRG Chains.
- Drew Dillman uses one code, RADDADDIZZLE, for both Look and Fix MFG, 21 and 20 months.
- Lil' Chris carries Onboard Sportswear for 20 months, next to Outsville.
Why it pays to stay
“Right now you are renting audiences by the month, which means the moment you stop paying, you own nothing. Under this model you are building equity in creators over years.”
from his notes on creator programs
- Start a small group of athletes on a code each.
- Keep the ones whose code sells and put them on the next launch.
- Look for the athletes in your sport no gear brand has kept yet. That list is what we pull for the free audit.
